Message of Faith

Written by Ane du Preez in 2002

This poem I wrote when I was in my teenage years. Somehow it reminds me of my grandfather, he was the most optimistic, knowledgeable and strong human being I’ve ever met. I wrote this for my grandmother and grandfather. We used to write letters to each other and then about two years after I wrote it he passed away but nevertheless this poem still inspires me and it gives me hope.

With words I can paint light into your mind

A soft word which can calm you down and reach

Your dream

And a whisper in your ear like the sound of a tune

Just to tell you don’t give up!

I bring you on this shiny day

The message of faith.

Count your blessing and not your failures

You’ll make it through no matter what –

That is your answer – faith.

It’s imagination, it’s courage,

It’s responsibility, its’ persistence

But

The most important of all is FAITH!

Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way

Make each day your masterpiece

Have memories and learn from life like “I can do it”

Look into the blue sky

And see the angel who brings you

The gift of hope and faith.

Where there is faith there is hope.

All you have to do is find it.
